Cali country

The collection Cali Country was created for submission to the Fashion Scholarship Fund 2025 Scholarship. The scholarship required the creation of a case study that answered the following question: How is digital technology intersecting with traditional, craft processes and affecting the future of fashion design?

This collection answered that question by focusing on how technology can be used during garment production for a more efficient output, which can allow for the introduction of custom-made clothing for the mass market. The garments in Cali Country highlights customizable elements while looking at a Californian western aesthetic for the modern cali cowgirl.

I was really inspired by some of the rural landscapes in California and wanted to bring some of that feeling to the everyday wearer.

I pulled from some western influences to steer my design direction, which was a fun change from my usual aesthetic.

Based in the landscape, I wanted to try pulling as many details from it as I could. I looked at shapes in the space itself, as well as looking at the plants and animals that are also in the environment.

The reactions were the design applications that I reactively saw from the photos themselves, which I played with during the design process of actually incorporating.

With customization in mind, each garment has an element that can be changed, ranging from color ways to decal shapes.

Everywhere that there's denim can also come in one of three finishes.
